  4. if neither I nor II is implicit.
  5. if both I and II are implicit.

Detergents should be used to clean clothes
Assumptions:
I. Detergents form lather
II. Detergents help to dislodge grease and dirt.

a) if only assumption I is implicit.

b) if only assumption II is implicit.

c) if either I or II is implicit.

d) if neither I nor II is implicit.

e) if both I and II are implicit.

Answer: (b)

Nothing is mentioned about lather formation by the detergent.

So, I is not implicit. also, the statement states that problems will be Solved by ‘me’.

So II is implicit

Question : 7

Statement:
Income in the hands of women contributes much more to the household food security and child nutrition than the income controlled by men.
Assumptions:
I. Women pay more attention to household nutrition.
II. Men are more interested in outside affairs.

Answer: (b)

I is a restatement. But II is implicit because it is on this assumption that the comparison has been made.

The statement assumes nothing about the kind of people who are fit to deliver the goods.

Hence I is not implicit. Again, the statement says there is a need to assuage the feelings. But it does not assume whether doing so would be easy or difficult.

Hence II is not implicit.
